SuzyQ Doughnuts

SuzyQ is Ottawa’s famous gourmet doughnut café. We were commissioned to make their plates, bowls and cups. We designed each piece to be a warm and cozy frame to showcase the colourful gourmet doughnuts and the dark full flavoured coffee. Most of the elements had to stack well as they would be on shelves visible to the customers.

The dishes are glazed with a semi translucent white glaze. The variation in colour is achieved through the application of different coloured slips at the leather hard stage. The plates and the bowls are designed to create stripes of softly coloured bands when stacked. We also used a custom logo stamp to brand each piece.
